The Problem People

The problem people are those who challenge or do not function or do not fit within the institutional powers idea of normal. By institutional powers, I mean the narrow official views of the dominant culture; it is the official/legitimate discourse and it confines itself to its own understanding. To stray outside the official views it a nonstarter for institutions. If you are a simple school kid who tells you teacher to fuck off regularly or a radical Christian who believes in the literal interpretation of the Bible or someone who enjoys using illegal substances frequently, you are problem people. Nearly anyone who does not follow the prescribed corporate capitalist consumer views can be a problem and will be quickly labeled as such and require treatment; this is the domination that we can observe in all facets of American culture, as well as in the broader nature civilization itself.
